Who we are

The Upper South Region has three branches:

Canterbury West Coast

Nelson Marlborough

South Canterbury

It is one of the largest CCS Disability Action regions. We provide a range of services and programmes to over 1400 people. We employ over 100 paid staff and 200 plus volunteers.

We work across a large geographical area. Our boundaries are the Waitaki River in the South and the Marlborough Sounds in the north. We cover the West Coast region from Haast to Karamea. Our challenge is to ensure that all people, including those in rural and often isolated areas have access to our services.

Each Branch is governed by a Local Advisory Committee (LAC) and Executive Committee (LEC)

The Canterbury West Coast Branch is centred on its main office in Christchurch and has satellite offices in Kaikoura, Rangiora, Ashburton, Westport, Greymouth and Hokitika. The Canterbury West Coast CCS Disability Action branch employs over 60 people in full and part-time positions. It provides support and services to around 1000 people and families.

The Nelson Marlborough Branch is a small branch with two main centres in Nelson and Blenheim. The branch employs 12 people in full and part-time positions. It provides support and services to around 200 people and families.

The South Canterbury Branch is a small branch, employing about 10 people in full and part-time positions. The Branch services a large geographic area bounded by the Waitaki River in the South, the Rangitata River in the North and the Southern Alps in the West. Apart from Timaru, the region serviced is rural although everywhere can be reached within an hour and a half drive. It provides support and services to around 200 people and families.
